In "When It Changed" there's no conflict - there aren't men due a plague, that is considered a terrible tragedy of a distant past. It also suggests female-leaded society is better. It seems good books, but very different from the short story by Joanna Russ that we used: "Kinderen van Moeder Aarde" talks of a conflict between a male-leaded society and a female-leaded society.
